Sudi Ulanga
30-year old guard Sudi Ulanga (181-G-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for KIU Titans and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had the game-high 28 points adding two rebounds and three assists for KIU Titans in his team's victory, helping them to beat Sharing Youth (#9, 6-10) 80-69. KIU Titans maintains the 3rd position in Ugandan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. KIU Titans will need more victories to improve their 11-4 record. Ulanga has many years of experience at KIU Titans, through which he has constantly improved. Sudi Ulanga averages this season 9.0ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Fadhili Chuma (F-95) of UCU Canons. He is Tanzanian forward in his 3rd season at UCU Canons. In the last game Chuma recorded impressive double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Of course UCU Canons cruised to a 68-60 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked KCC Lions (#10, 5-12). This victory allowed UCU Canons to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Chuma is one of the most experienced players at UCU Canons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Felix Mukunzi (193-F/G) of UPDF (#12). Mukunzi scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Mukunzi's great performance UPDF lost 52-57 to the higher-ranked JKL Dolphins (#6, 7-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. UPDF can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 4-12 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Mukunzi he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Mukunzi has a very solid season. In 13 games in Uganda he scored 12.6ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Landry Ndikumana (198-F-95) of City Oilers - 17 points and 16 rebounds
5. Sam Gombya (213-C-89) of Charging Rhinos - 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Chris Omanye (183-G-94) of KIU Titans - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Francis Kasekende (G) of Charging Rhinos - 14 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Lual Titus (C-98) of UCU Canons - 13 points and 9 rebounds
9. Micheal Bwanga (G) of KIU Titans - 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

We want to play the right way,' City Oilers captain Jimmy Enabu (187-PG-88) noted after his side's 83-79 win over KIU Titans on Fr...   [read more]
