25-year old center Ivan Lumanyika (C-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for JKL Dolphins and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat UPDF (1-3) 59-51. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory JKL Dolphins moved-up to the 10th position in Ugandan league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Lumanyika had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at JKL Dolphins, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Lumanyika has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.3ppg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 62.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Innocent Ochera (G-97) of Ndejje. He is a guard in his 3rd season at Ndejje. In the last game Ochera recorded impressive 30 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Ndejje lost that game 69-77 to Sharing Youth (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Ochera is one of the most experienced players at Ndejje and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.0ppg (#2).

Third place about best performers goes to forward Aaron Ojoo (F-96) of Pemba Warriors (#6). Ojoo scored 25 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Pemba Warriors, leading his team to a 79-75 win against UPDF (#12, 1-3). Pemba Warriors needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost games. Ojoo has a great season in Uganda. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.5ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.0rpg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Fadhili Chuma (F-95) of UCU Canons - 17 points and 10 rebounds
5. Baraka Mopele) of Sharing Youth - 31 points and 2 rebounds
6. Felix Mukunzi (193-F/G) of UPDF - 27 points and 11 rebounds
7. Landry Ndikumana (198-F-95) of City Oilers - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Vinnie Jurua (F-89) of Pemba Warriors - 19 points and 7 rebounds
9. Syrus Kiviiri (G-88) of Pemba Warriors - 13 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. With more than forty-eight years of experience, INTERPERFORMANCES is well known to all professional teams and clubs. General Managers trust and rely on our opinions and recommendations.

Oilers targeting unbeaten run - 1 day ago
In winning six straight league titles, City Oilers have pretty much achieved everything that is there to win in National Basketball League. But as they chase an unprecedented seventh league crown that will see them edge ahead of Falcons, they also want to do it in a more attractive manner. 'The wins are important, but the way that we play is also as important. We want to play the right way,' City Oilers captain Jimmy Enabu (187-PG-88) noted after his side's 83-79 win over KIU Titans on Fr...   [read more]
