Ezzahra signs Ater Majok, ex Beirut Club

Ezzahra Sports (ProA) signed experienced 34-year old Lebanese-South Sudanese international center Ater Majok (208cm-106kg-87, college: UConn). Majok was about to sign at Beirut Club in the Lebanese LBL league. He ended the last season at US Monastir where in 6 Basketball Africa League games he had 8.3ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.0apg, and 2.0bpg. But most of that year he spent at Al Arabi in Qatari D1. In 13 games he recorded very impressive stats: 17.7ppg, 13.7rpg (leader !!!), 3.6apg and 3.6bpg. Majok helped them to end the regular season as a second-best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. 2020-21 was a great season as he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Center of the Year, named to 1st Team, and named to All-Imports Team.

In 2011 (a year after he left the college) he was drafted by Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in the second round (58th overall). The former University of Connecticut star is in his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.

He also represented Lebanon at the Gulf Coast Championships Semifinals three years ago.

Majok is quite an experienced player. He has played in twelve different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and of course North America). Majok has played previously professionally also in Australia (New Zealand Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), Belarus, China (Shaanxi, Beijing and Hainan Haixiang), Germany (BG Goettingen), Israel, Korea, Poland (Trefl), Slovakia (Nitra), Taiwan (Taiwan Beer) and Turkey. He won the Tunisian League championship title for two years in a row (2020 and 2021) and the cup in 2021.

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was selected AfroBasket.com All-Tunisian League Best Foreign Player of the Year in 2020.
