  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Tunisians who are currently playing abroad.

Michael Roll
Michael Roll
#1. This week's number one is an international shooting guard Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Israeli team Maccabi T-A to a victory over the tenth-ranked Bayern Muenchen (4-6) crushing them 95-71 in the Euroleague in Thursday night's game. Roll was MVP of the game. He recorded 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 21 minutes on the court. Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (2-8) is placed second from the bottom (#15) in the Euroleague. It was Maccabi's first victory after six consecutive loses. Roll has relatively good stats this year: 10.7ppg, 2.1rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 49.1%, 3FGP: 39.3% in nine games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Roll is currently a member of the Tunisian senior national team. Strangely he has never played in Tunisia.

Salah Mejri
Salah Mejri
#2. Second place goes to an international center Salah Mejri (217-86, currently plays in NBA). Mejri contributed to an easy victory against the Houston Rockets (10-11) crushing them 128-108 in the NBA last Wednesday. He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Dallas Mavericks have 10-10 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Mejri averages: 2.3ppg, 2.4rpg, 2FGP: 66.7%. He is in the roster of the Tunisian senior national team.

Wassef Methnani
Wassef Methnani
#3. The Tunisian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U19 international forward Wassef Methnani (203-98, currently plays college basketball in the States). Methnani contributed to a 1-point Fairfield's victory against the Denver University 86-85 in the NCAA on Sunday night. He scored 12 points in only a mere 13 minutes. The Fairfield University has conference record this season. This year Methnani's overall stats are: 5.0ppg, 2.1rpg, 2FGP: 37.5%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 83.3% in seven games. He played for the Tunisian U19 national team three years ago.

Hamdi Karoui
Hamdi Karoui
#4. Forward Hamdi Karoui (201-93, college: E.Utah JC, currently plays in Germany) could not help Hagen-Haspe (5-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Karoui's very good performance the eighth-placed Hagen-Haspe (5-6) was defeated 91-82 on the road by the higher-ranked Hertener Loewen (#4) in the West group. He was the top scorer with 28 points. Karoui also added 4 steals. Karoui has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 20.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.7apg and 2.1spg. Karoui has a dual citizenship: French and Tunisian. He used to play for the Tunisian U19 national team back in 2011.

Ismail Chrigui
Ismail Chrigui
#5. Former U18 international forward Ismail Chrigui (197-98, currently plays in Alpe-Adria-Cup) was not able to help Arkadia Lions in their game against USK Praha (4-2) in the Alpe Adria Cup. Chrigui scored 5 points in 19 minutes. Arkadia Lions were crushed 87-45 in Praha by the leading USK Praha. So far Arkadia Lions lost all four games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Alpe Adria Cup Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Chrigui averages only 6.5ppg in two games. He used to play for the Tunisian U18 national team two years ago.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Tunisian passport:

#1. Ahmed Salman, who plays in the Bahrain Premier League could not help Isa Town (1-4) in their last game on Monday. Despite Salman's very good performance Isa Town was badly defeated 63-46 on the road by the much higher-ranked Al-Riffa (#3). He was the top scorer with 18 points. Salman also added 5 rebounds. It's Salman's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Salman averages: 29.2ppg, 6.8rpg and 5.6apg.
