Division I Round 7: U.S. Monastir hands first defeat to Stade Nabeulien - Oct 28, 2018

The round was rather attractive and full of interesting results. The round ended with defeat of the leader and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Stade Nabeulien (5-1) on the court of second ranked U.S. Monastir on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by U.S. Monastir 61-54. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Stade Nabeulien. It was a key game for the top position in the league. U.S. Monastir have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Stade Nabeulien. U.S. Monastir is looking forward to face JS Kairouan (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Stade Nabeulien will play against AS Hammamet and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was played in Sousse between third ranked JS Kairouan and 4th placed ES Sahel where JS Kairouan (3-3) beat ES Sahel (2-4) on the road 75-70. JS Kairouan maintains third place with 3-3 record having just two points less than leader ES Rades, which they share with C Africain and DSG. ES Sahel lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with AS Hammamet and JS Manazeh. JS Kairouan will play against league's second-placed U.S. Monastir on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ES Sahel will play against Ezzahra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Goulette between ESG and Club Africain. Third ranked ESG (4-2) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Club Africain (3-3). ESG managed to escape with a 1-point win 69-68 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Club Africain. ESG moved-up to second place. Club Africain at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. They share it with JS Kairouan and DSG. ESG will meet at home DSG (#4) in the next round. Club Africain will play against CA Bizerte and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Hammamet. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Ezzahra (1-5) to fifth ranked AS Hammamet (2-4) 54-51 on Saturday evening. AS Hammamet moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ES Sahel and JS Manazeh. Ezzahra lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. AS Hammamet's next round opponent will be league's leader Stade Nabeulien on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ezzahra will play against ES Sahel (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Rades. Leader ES Rades faced their biggest opponent DSG. Host ES Rades (5-0) defeated guests from (3-3) 84-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of DSG. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for ES Rades. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-0 record. Loser DSG dropped to the third position with three games lost. ES Rades will face JS Manazeh (#5) on the road in the next round. DSG will play against the league's second-placed ESG in Goulette and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 7 JS Manazeh defeated CA Bizertin in a road game 62-58.



AS Hammamet - Ezzahra 54-51

A very interesting game took place in Hammamet. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Ezzahra (1-5) to fifth ranked AS Hammamet (2-4) 54-51 on Saturday evening. AS Hammamet moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ES Sahel and JS Manazeh. Ezzahra lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. AS Hammamet's next round opponent will be league's leader Stade Nabeulien on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ezzahra will play against ES Sahel (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

CA Bizertin - JS Manazeh 58-62

The game between closely ranked teams ended with bottom-ranked CA Bizerte's (0-5) home loss to fifth ranked JS Manazeh (2-4) 58-62 on Saturday. JS Manazeh moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ES Sahel and AS Hammamet. CA Bizerte lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. JS Manazeh will face league's leader ES Rades at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CA Bizerte will play against Club Africain (#3) in Tunis and hopes to get finally their first victory.
