Division I Round 6: Stade Nabeulien edges ES Sahel by one point - Oct 25, 2018

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Division I took place in Sousse. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 3rd ranked ES Sahel (2-3) to top-ranked Stade Nabeulien (5-0) 71-70 on Saturday evening. Undefeated Stade Nabeulien have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. ES Sahel at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with JS Kairouan. Stade Nabeulien are looking forward to face league's second-placed U.S. Monastir on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ES Sahel will play against JS Kairouan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked CA Bizerte (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-64 loss to fourth ranked ESG (3-2) in Bizertin. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. ESG moved-up to second place, which they share with C Africain and DSG. Newly promoted CA Bizerte still closes the standings with four games lost. ESG will play against Club Africain (#4) in Tunis in the next round. CA Bizerte will play at home against JS Manazeh and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Kairouan supposed to be also quite interesting. 5th ranked Ezzahra (1-4) played at the court of sixth ranked JS Kairouan (2-3). JS Kairouan smashed Ezzahra 69-46 on Saturday. JS Kairouan moved-up to third place, which they share with ES Sahel. Ezzahra lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with AS Hammamet and JS Manazeh. JS Kairouan will meet ES Sahel (#4) in the next round. Ezzahra will play against AS Hammamet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Hammamet supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked U.S. Monastir (4-1) played at the court of 5th ranked AS Hammamet (1-4). U.S. Monastir did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-69. U.S. Monastir have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record behind leader ES Rades. AS Hammamet at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. U.S. Monastir's next round opponent will be league's leader Stade Nabeulien at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. AS Hammamet will play against Ezzahra (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 6 JS Manazeh was crushed by DSG in a road game 86-64.



CA Bizertin - ESG 64-85

Bottom-ranked CA Bizerte (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-64 loss to fourth ranked ESG (3-2) in Bizertin. US Monastir win League title - 1 month ago
US Monastir have won the title of Tunisia's basketball champions (2018-2019) after a third win over ES Rades (79-73) at a fourth and last match of the final played Wednesday in Monastir. The US Monastir, who lost the first match of the final played in Rades (75-64), won the other three games by 88-78 in Rades, 80-77 in Monastir and 79-73 in Monastir. US Monastir are now leading two wins to one against ES Rades. They secured an 80-77 home-win after two extra times (61-61, 68-68), at a Tunisia's Basketball Championship final day-3 game played on Saturday night.
