TBF Acting Secretary General, Michael Mwita, said the federation was working hard to make sure that all national level tournaments in this year's calendar are staged. "Our plan is to make sure that we stage all tournaments drawn in this year's calendar of events because this is one way of making the sport vibrant in the country," he said. Mwita confirmed the presence of various tournaments such as Women Day tournament set to be held on March 8th this year. The tournament will draw various women teams from Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Tanga, Morogoro and Arusha. Mwita also said in May this year, TBF will host the national club championship that will be held in Dar es Salaam. He said the national club championship will involve all regional champions and runners up. With exception of Dar es Salaam that is considered to be a special zone it will draw six teams from Kinondoni, Ilala and Temeke districts. According to Mwita, The tournament will comprise both men and women teams. However, he said women tournament will be an open championship with the purpose of allowing various women teams to participate.
