Bosco Steels continued their early season dominance in the national basketball league when they thrashed rivals Manzini Superstars 46-35.

The match was among the over 10 played over the weekend at Mavuso Sports Centre on Saturday. Steels, who started the season on fire by ending defending champions Jazzs unbeaten run, are favourites to land the title this year.

Swaziland National Basketball Association (SNBA) Secretary Bongani Shiba hailed the teams for honouring their games, which also included; Mens Promotion League, National Women League and Elite Mens League.

Jazz Ladies came out determined to collect the E1 000 that was placed as a prize for the first team to score 100 points in a game and they came out with a whooping 50 points scored. This is probably the highest points to ever be scored by a player in any game in Swaziland, Shiba said.
Meanwhile, defending champions Mbabane Jazz needed the experience of captain Jody Shiba and seasoned guard Sisekelo Dlamini to beat hard fighting Mbabane Raptors in the last quarter.

This was despite a strong fight by Busiswa Magongo who was a thorn to Jazz.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Knicks scraped through to record their first win this season. Senior player Bonginkosi Dee Shabangu scored a very important 3 pointer in the dying seconds of the game to seal a 37-36 win over Manzini Raiders.

Reigning National Women League champions Phoenix made their first official appearance and immediately made their presence felt by beating Raptors ladies 61-24.
