Al Ittihad Tripoli tabs Nuni Omot

Nuni Omot

Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) signed 31-year old American (who also has a South Sudanese passport) 204cm small forward Nuni Omot (college: Baylor). He began the season with Hotshots in the Filipino PBA league. In his most recent three games, he averaged an impressive 32.3ppg, 7.3rpg, and 6.0apg. Last season, he played for Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut (DLBL) in the Lebanese league, where he appeared in 10 games and averaged 14.8ppg, 5.0rpg, and 4.1apg.
Omot represented South Sudan at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) two years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 16.7 points per game and had 3.3 rebounds per game.
He is a very experienced player. Omot has traveled the world during his pro career, playing in fourteen different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, and North America). He has played professionally in China (Ducks and Rockets), France (Chorale de Roanne), Germany (46ers), Holland (ZZ Leiden), Israel (Ramat Gan), Lebanon, Poland (Trefl), Puerto Rico (Leones), Turkey (Tofas), North Macedonia (MZT Skopje), Egypt (Al Ahly Cairo), NBA G League (Westchester Knicks, Long Island Nets, and Osceola Magic), and Rwanda (APR Basketball Club Kigali).
Among many awards, Omot played in the final of the Chinese League in 2025. He was voted to the Afrobasket.com All-FIBA Afrobasket Honorable Mention in 2025.
He graduated from Baylor University in 2018 and is currently in his eighth season in pro basketball. Omot played for other colleges such as Indian Hills Community College and Concordia University St. Paul.
