Akol Mawein leaves Levice

Akol Mawein

25-year old South Sudanese-Australian 206cm forward Akol Mawein (college: Sacramento State) left Defending champion Patrioti Levice (Tipos SBL). In 23 games he recorded 9.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1bpg this season. He helped them to make it to the cup final. He also played 9 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 7.9ppg and 4.2rpg.
Mawein has played professionally in Australia (Meteors) and Georgia (Margveti).
Among many awards, he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Georgian Superleague Import Player of the Year in 2025.
Mawein graduated from Sacramento State in 2024 and is currently in his second season in pro basketball. He has also played for other colleges such as Navarro College and The University of Oklahoma.
