Korea Gas Corporation (KBL) confirmed in their roster 32-year old Australian-South Sudanese ex-international center Mangok Mathiang (208cm-100kg-1992, college: Louisville) for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He played there last season. In four KBL games, he had 8.3ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.0apg, and 1.5bpg. He also played for Rockets (CBA) in the Chinese league.
Mathiang was also a member of the Australian international program for some years. He played for the Australian Senior National Team in 2019 and previously for the Under 22 National Team in 2015.
Mathiang represented Australia at the FIBA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers six years ago. During this event, he scored an average of 6 ppg and had 4 rpg.
He is a very experienced player. Mathiang has played in eight different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, and of course North America). He has played professionally in Australia (Hawks, Breakers, and Cavaliers), China, Israel (Ramat Gan and Hapoel Eilat), Italy (Cremona), Slovenia (Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana), Turkey (Bahcesehir), NBA (Charlotte Hornets), and NBA G League (Greensboro Swarm).
Among many awards, his team won the Italian Cup in 2019. Mathiang was voted to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Europe Cup Honorable Mention back in 2020.
He graduated from the University of Louisville in 2017 and it'll be his 9th season as a pro player.
