South Sudan posted the initial win in Day 2 of the 2025 AfroBasket Qualifiers. They overcame Burundi 77-46 for a 1-1 record. South Sudan won all the quarters of the game to seal the win.
Adut Bulgak (193-C/F-1992, college: FSU) stepped up with 15 points for the winners and Nyamuoch Teny (178-G-1998, college: Vermont, agency: On Court Prospects) as well as Yar Mayen (1996) notched 12 each. Delicia Washington (178-G-1997, college: Clemson) collected them with 11 points, 12 assists and 8 rebounds. Ines Nezerwa (192-F-1993, college: Iowa St.) replied with 15 points in a loss.
