NS Matrix sign a second foreign player

Madut Akec

Defending champion Negeri Sembilan Matrix (MBL) inked 25-year old South Sudanese-Australian 201cm forward Madut Akec (college: Detroit). He is the second import player in the roster as Cameroonian Toluwalope Obasa signed here earlier.
He already started the season at Al Safa in Saudi Arabian SBL league. In only one game he had very impressive stats: 31 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. The last season summer he played at Association Sportive des Douanes Dakar (N1M) in Senegalese league.
He is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and of course North America). Akec has played previously professionally in Australia (Raiders), Canada, Cyprus (Etha), Lebanon (Mayrouba), Syria (Al Karameh) and North Macedonia (Cair 2030 Skopje). His team was regular season runner-up in Australian NBL1 South in 2024.
He graduated from University of Detroit Mercy in 2022 and it is his third season in pro basketball. Akec played also for University of South Florida for 3 years.
