Marial Shayok (ex Liaoning FL) signs at M.Tel-Aviv

Defending champion Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv (Winner League) landed 29-year old South Sudanese-Canadian international 196cm small forward Marial Shayok (college: Iowa State, agency: Diamond Sports). Shayok already started the season at Liaoning Flying Leopards in Chinese CBA league. In 10 games he averaged 13.8ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.4apg and 1.0spg.
In 2019 he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in second round (54th overall). He graduated from Iowa State and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.
Shayok also represented South Sudan at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) this year. His stats at that event were 3 games: 14.7ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.3apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 34.8%, 3PT: 30.4%.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. Shayok is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Turkey (Fenerbahce and Bursaspor), NBA G League (Maine Celtics and Delaware Blue Coats) and NBA Summer League (Minnesota Timberwolves). Shayok was also voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese CBA Honorable Mention in 2024.
His college team won Big 12 Tournament in 2019. He played also for The University of Virginia for 3 years.
