Bam Adebayo (207-C-1997, college: Kentucky) and Kevin Durant (209-PF-1988, college: Texas) combined for 32 points as USA breezed past South Sudan in their second game at the 2024 Olympic Games. It was never a close contest. USA jumped to a 26-14 lead ten minutes into the game. The defending champions sank 29 points in the second frame to secure a 19-point halftime lead 55-36. South Sudan managed to slow their opponents a bit in the third term. The African side pulled within 16 points at the final intermission. But USA responded with a 30-point effort in the fourth period to race to a comfortable win. Bam Adebayo accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds, while Kevin Durant added 14 points in the winning effort. Nuni Omot (204-SF-1994, college: Baylor) answered with 24 points for South Sudan. Carlik Jones (185-PG-1997, college: Louisville) netted 18 points and issued 7 assists in the loss. |
