Libobasquet 2024 - Makol Mawien (ex Batumi) signs at Leones

Makol Mawien

Defending champion Club Leones Potosi Basquetbol (Libobasquet) landed 27-year old South Sudanese 206cm power forward Makol Mawien (college: of Kansas State). Mawien played recently at Basketball Club Batumi in Georgian Superleague. He managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 5 Superleague games he averaged 8.4ppg and 3.2rpg. Mawien also played for Xezri in Azerbaijani ABL where in only one Superleague game he had 4 points. The other team he played shortly was Mornar in Montenegrin league. In three Superleague games he recorded 4.7ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.0bpg. He also played 4 games in ABA League where he got 4.3ppg and 2.8rpg.
Mawien is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to five different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Mawien has played previously professionally in Bulgaria (Levski and Chernomorets), Finland (Kipina), Kosovo (Rahoveci), Saudi Arabia (Al Nassr) and Ukraine (Zaporizhye).
He graduated from of Kansas State in 2020 and it is his fourth season in pro basketball. Mawien played for other colleges like: New Mexico Junior College, University of Utah.
