Kenya Morans will play a friendly match against the local-based South Sudan team in a friendly match at Nyayo Stadium gymnasium. Morans are currently training for the 2025 FIBA Afro-Basket Qualifiers Group ‘E’ Window 1 tourney slated February 23-25 in Tunisia. The Kenyans have been pitted against reigning African champions Tunisia, and 11-time champions Angola and Guinea. Team captain Victor Bosire said they know what it takes to go back to continental basketball and they will do their best. The match is at 7 pm. Meanwhile, Kenyatta University Pirates coach Caleb Osewe said they are upbeat about their chances after Ministry of Information, Communications and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary. Eliud Owalo donated playing kits to the varsity’s two teams. KU, who are struggling at the base of the table, face Equity Bank Dumas in the only men’s fixture on Sunday. “The motivation in training after the donations from the CS is sky-high. We want to show improvements after this gesture and I am sure we will not disappoint,” Osewe offered. KU are bottom of the log having won only one of the nine games they have played so far. The bankers are fourth on six out of 10 wins. Fourth-placed TH3 Swish will host former champions Equity Bank Hawks at the Menengai High School backyard. Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers will also have a game against the United States International University (USIU) Flames.
