The Celtics sign Wenyen Gabriel

The Boston Celtics have signed Wenyen Gabriel, a 26-year-old power forward from South Sudan. Gabriel, who stands at 6'10'' and played college basketball at Kentucky, was previously set to sign with the LA Lakers, where he had been playing for the past three years.
He has never been drafted by the NBA, but he was called to the South Sudanese Senior National Team this year.
He has played for 8 other teams: New Orleans Pelicans, LA Clippers, Brooklyn Nets, Sacramento Kings, Stockton Kings, Wisconsin Herd, Sacramento Kings, and Erie BH. His team reached the NBA Semifinals in 2023.
He was on the SEC All-Tournament Team in 2018.
He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2018, and this is his sixth season as a professional player.
