Defending champion Al Alhy Benghazi (D1) landed experienced 36-year old Lebanese-South Sudanese international 210cm center Ater Majok (college: UConn) for new season.

 Majok played most recently at P.Luanda in Angolan Division I. In 14 games he averaged 12.4ppg, 6.3rpg and 1.6apg last season.


In 2011 (a year after his graduation) he was drafted by Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in second round (58th overall). He graduated from University of Connecticut in 2010 and it will be his 14th   season in pro basketball.
Majok also represented Lebanon at the Gulf Coast Championship Semifinals five years ago.


He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in fifteen different countries playing on six different continents. Majok is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American, Australian, African and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally in Australia (New Zealand Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), Belarus, China (Shaanxi, Beijing and Hainan Haixiang), Germany (BG Goettingen), Korea, Poland (Trefl), Qatar (Al Arabi), Slovakia (Nitra), Taiwan (Taiwan Beer), Tunisia (US Monastir and Ezzahra), Turkey, Venezuela (Piratas), Lebanon (Al Riyadi, Beirut Club, Sagesse, Homentmen and Champville) and NBA G League (South Bay Lakers). Majok won Tunisian League championship title in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and the cup in 2023. He was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese NBL Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Ahly Benghazi.
