2023 AfroBasket Qualifiers: South Sudan outscore Rwanda in Kampala

Rwanda - South Sudan 40:54

South Sudan outscored Rwanda 54-40 in Kampala at the 2023 AfroBasket Qualifiers. They trailed 5 points at the end of the first period, but then took control of the game. South Sudan replied with a 13-11 run in the second period and then added an 18-12 rally in the third quarter. Moreover, South Sudan closed the game with a final 15-4 surge to seal the win.
Nyamuoch Teny (178-G-1998, college: Vermont) top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Acheil Tac (191-F-1993, college: N.Texas) netted 11. Charlotte Umugwaneza (C-1984) and Faustine Mwizerwa (G-2001) replied with 8 points each in a loss.
