Pieter
Prinsloo
Club Universidad Santa Cruz (Libobasque) signed 26-year old South African international forward Pieter Prinsloo (208-102kg-92, college: Marist). The last time (18) he played at Toros in Venezuelan LPB league. Prinsloo missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Nicaraguan LSB Honorable Mention in 2018.
Prinsloo's team won El Salvador Liga Mayor Clausura Regular Season in 2015.
Prinsloo represented South Africa at the Afrobasket Championships last year. His stats at that event were 3 games: 12.3ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.3apg, FGP: 55.6%, 3PT: 18.2%, FT: 33.3%.
Prinsloo is quite experienced player. He has played in four different countries on three different continents (Latin America, Africa and of course North America). Prinsloo has played previously professionally in El Salvador (ExSAL Santa Tecla, Santa Tecla and Santiagueno), Nicaragua (Costa Caribe and Jass), Bolivia (Calero) and Nigeria (Lagos City Stars).
He attended Marist College until 2014 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player.
Prinsloo could be described: A hard nosed defender who can score and grab rebounds too.
