The Charlotte Hornets signed 22-year-old Senegalese international center Ibou Badji (7'2''-2002). He played last season with the Denver Nuggets. In two NBA Summer League games recently, he had 5.0ppg, 4.0rpg, and 1.0apg. Badji played for different teams last season, ending with Tenerife (Liga Endesa) in the Spanish league. He also played 7 games in the Spanish Liga Endesa, averaging only 1.9ppg and 1.1bpg. Badji helped Tenerife reach the semifinals. He briefly played for the Bucks as well. In 50 NBA Summer League games, he averaged 6.0ppg and 5.3rpg.
Badji has never been drafted by the NBA.
He has been a member of the Senegalese international program for some years. Badji has regularly played for the Senegalese senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 18 National Team in 2020.
He is a very experienced player. Badji has played between Spain (FC Barcelona, FC Barcelona Lassa 2nd team, Lleida, FC Barcelona, and Barca), other NBA teams (Portland Trail Blazers), Spain, NBA G League (Wisconsin Herd and Rip City Remix), and NBA Summer League (Portland Trail Blazers).
Among many awards, he was voted to Afrobasket.com All-FIBA AfroBasket Honorable Mention in 2021.
