Cheikh Sane

Defending champion Fribourg Olympic (SBL) confirmed in their roster 32-year old Senegalese center Cheikh Sane (207cm-105kg-1992, college: Marshall) for season 2024-25. Sane played there last season. In 36 SBL games he recorded 5.6ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0spg. He helped them to win the league title and the cup. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. Sane also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 8.0ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.0apg and 1.5spg.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at Boulazac Basket in French ProB. In 27 games he had 4.6ppg, 5.1rpg and 1.2apg in that year. He contributed to his team making it to the cup final and to the league semifinals.
Sane was a member of Senegalese U18 National Team back in 2008.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Sane's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America) in five different countries. Sane has played previously professionally also in Denmark (Naestved and Horsens IC), Greece (Koroivos), Japan (Broncos), France (Aix Maurienne) and Switzerland (Starwings and Nyon).
He graduated from Marshall University in 2015 and it will be his tenth season as a professional player. Sane played also for Snow College for 2 years.
