The Senegalese champions taste the initial win in the Sahara Conference of the Basketball Africa League. Douanes overcame Stade Malien 74:58 on Friday night.
Douanes started with a 21-17 lead and pushed the tempo for good in the second half with two wins. Marcus Crawford stepped up with 21 points and Bryan Osei (195-F/G-1990) netted 14. Jean-Jacques Boissy (183-PG-2000) delivered 13, whilst Bara Ndiaye and Ifeanyichukwu Ochereobia (196-F-1989) netted 8 each. Souleymane Berthe (SF-2000, agency: The French Family Consulting) replied with 17 points in defeat.
