We bring you last week's top performances from Senegalese players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international forward Mouhammad Faye (207-85, college: SMU, currently plays in Serbia). He contributed to a Crvena Zvezda's victory against the second-ranked Mega Bemax (7-5) 83-72 in the Serbian KLS in Sunday night's game. Faye recorded 7 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in Group A. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (12-0) is placed first. So far his team won all twelve games in the Semifinals. There are only three games left until the end of the Semifinals. So now every game will be critical. This year Faye averages: 6.3ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.8apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 75.0%(12-16) and FT: 68.2% in 11 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Senegalese senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Cincinnati, currently plays in Poland). Mbodj could not help Twarde Pierniki (24-6) to beat Anwil (22-8). He scored 7 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 3 blocks. Twarde Pierniki was defeated 89-78 on the road by the lower-ranked Anwil (#4). Mbodj has relatively good stats this season: 10.6ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 54.1% and FT: 70.9%. He is in the roster of the Senegalese senior national team.

   #3. The Senegalese player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Babacar Toure (205-85, currently plays in Switzerland). Toure led Fribourg to a 2-point victory over the second-ranked Geneve Lions (3-2) 79-77 in the Swiss SBL on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Toure scored 18 points, had 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 32 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Fribourg Olympic (5-0) is placed first. So far his team won all five games in the Finals. Toure has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.8ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.9apg, 1.2bpg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 59.7%(173-290), 3FGP: 18.2% and FT: 77.5% in 30 games. Toure is also a member of the Senegalese senior national team.

Moise Diame
Moise Diame
   #4. Center Moise Diame (206-86, currently plays in France) was not able to help Saint Vallier (9-9) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the fifth-placed Saint Vallier (9-9) was defeated 80-69 at home by the second-ranked STB Le Havre in the Places 1-10 group. Diame was the second best scorer with 15 points. He also added 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Diame's overall stats this season are: 9.1ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.3apg. He is also Senegalese national team player.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Senegalese passport:

   #1. Ablaye Sow (208-F/C-99, currently plays in Spain). Sow could not help Ourense (20-14) to beat Palma (22-12). He did not have that impressive stats last Saturday. Sow recorded only 2 points in 1 minutes on the court. Ourense was badly defeated 77-61 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Palma. This year Sow averages just 1.3ppg in three games he played so far.

Sapela Basket 13 (NM2) signed experienced 41-year old naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (201-104kg-78). He has played for the last thirteen seasons at Fos-Provence in ProB. Dia helped his team get promotion to Jeep ELITE ProA. In 33 ProB games he had 3.5ppg and 1.4rpg last season. NM2 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. C.B. Torrons Vicens L'Hospitalet (LEB Silver) re-signed 31-year old Senegalese center Mouhamadou Diop (212-87). He played there last season. In 34 LEB Silver games he averaged 10.0ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.0apg and 1.0bpg. The previous (17-18) season Diop played at CB Universidad de Burgos where in 25 LEB Silver games he had very impressive stats: 17.0ppg, 8.1rpg, 1.1apg, 1.6spg and 1.4bpg. PAPA BEYE La Charite Basket 58 (NM1) confirmed in their roster 29-year old Senegalese power forward Papa Beye (202-90). He played there last season. In 34 NM1 games he had 12.0ppg and 5.9rpg.
