We bring you last week's top performances from Senegalese players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Cincinnati, currently plays in Poland). Mbodj could not help Twarde Pierniki (15-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Twarde Pierniki was defeated 89-80 on the road by the lower-ranked Anwil (#4). Mbodj was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Mbodj has relatively good stats this season: 11.9ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.3apg, 1.8bpg, 2FGP: 58.3%(88-151) and FT: 67.6%. He is currently a member of the Senegalese senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U18 international center Youssoupha Fall (221-95, currently plays in France). He was not able to help SIG Strasbourg (11-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Fall's good performance SIG Strasbourg was defeated 90-76 in Limoges by the higher-ranked CSP Elite (#5). He scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. It's Fall's first season with the team. Fall has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.3ppg, 8.8rpg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 66.5%(105-158) and FT: 56.5%. Fall played for the Senegalese U18 national team in 2012.

   #3. The Senegalese player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward Jules Aw (202-86, currently plays in Switzerland). He led Massagno to a 2-point victory over the league leader Lugano Tigers (3-0) 79-77 in the Swiss SBL last Sunday. Aw was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 18 rebounds in 32 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. SAM Basket Massagno (2-2) is placed third in the SBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Aw has very impressive stats this year: 18.8ppg, 11.9rpg, 1.5apg, 1.8spg, 2FGP: 57.3%(134-234) and FT: 81.3% in 17 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Senegalese and Swiss. Aw played for the Senegalese national team twelve years ago.

Gorgui Dieng

   #4. Center Gorgui Dieng (211-90, college: Louisville, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Minnesota Timberwolves (27-30) in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans (26-33) in the NBA. Dieng scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. But the Minnesota Timberwolves (27-30) were defeated 122-117 in New Orleans by the Pelicans. Dieng has been at the team for six years. His overall stats this season are: 5.6ppg and 4.1rpg. Dieng is also Senegalese national team player.

   #5. Former international power forward Babacar Toure (205-85, currently plays in Switzerland) led Fribourg to a victory over the seventh-ranked Boncourt (7-9) crushing them 93-71 in the Swiss SBL on Saturday night. He was the best player in that game. Toure scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 26 minutes. Fribourg Olympic (12-0) is placed first in the SBL. So far his team won all twelve games in the Regular Season. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Toure has very impressive stats this year: 16.3ppg, 9.1rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1bpg in 15 games. He used to play for the Senegalese national team five years ago.

   #6. Center Moussa Diagne (211-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Andorra (10-10) in their game against Movil Estudiantes (8-12) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Diagne scored 6 points and blocked 2 shots in 17 minutes. Andorra was edged 91-90 in Madrid by the lower-ranked (#12) Movil Estudiantes. They ended the series of four consecutive victories. This year Diagne's overall stats are: 5.9ppg and 4.8rpg in 19 games. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He is a former international player as he played for the Senegalese senior team three years ago.

International forward Mouhammad Faye (207-85, college: SMU, currently plays in ABA League) managed to help Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd in a victory against the seventh-ranked Mornar Bar (7-12) crushing them 90-57 in the ABA League in Saturday night's game. He recorded only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 19 minutes. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (18-1) is placed first in the ABA League. There are only three games left until the end of the ABA League Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Faye's total stats are: 7.1ppg, 4.9rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1bpg in 16 games. He is also Senegalese national team player.

Center Hamady N'Diaye (213-87, college: Rutgers, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Sidigas AV's victory against the 12th-ranked Germani BR (8-11) 79-67 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. N'Diaye recorded only 2 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Sidigas Avellino (12-7) is placed fifth in the Serie A. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. N'Diaye has averaged so far 7.2ppg, 4.9rpg and 2.2bpg. He plays currently for the Senegalese national team.

Former international swingman Diouf Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware, currently plays in Japan) helped Toshiba Thunders win their game against the fifth-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (17-23) 84-75 in the Japanese B League on Sunday night. Diouf recorded 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in only 9 minutes. Kawasaki Brave Thunders (24-16) are placed second in Central group. Diouf plays seventh season for the team. He has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 4.0rpg in nine games. Diouf used to play for the Senegalese national team twelve years ago.

   #10. Center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure, currently plays in France) couldn't help JL Bourg (16-4) in their game against Cholet Basket (19-1) in the French Jeep ELITE. Ndoye scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 17 minutes. JL Bourg lost 82-89 in Cholet to the leading Basket. It was JL Bourg's first loss after four consecutive victories. This year Ndoye has relatively solid stats: 14.2ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.6bpg in 17 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Senegalese National Team roster.

   #11. Former international point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, agency: BeoBasket, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Gran Canaria in their game against Gipuzkoa in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Hannah scored 8 points. His team was defeated 90-85. Hannah has reliable stats this season: 10.6ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.9apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Senegalese and American. Hannah used to play for the Senegalese national team two years ago.

   #12. Former U18 international power forward Cheikh Sane (207-92, college: Marshall, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help Horsens IC (14-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance the second-placed Horsens IC lost 94-101 at home to the leading Bakken in the ProA group. Sane recorded 13 points (made all of his five free throws) in 28 minutes. Sane has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.3apg and 1.4spg in 11 games. He used to play for the Senegalese U18 national team back in 2008.

   #13. Former international power forward Ibrahima Faye (207-97, currently plays in Belgium) couldn't help Leuven Bears in their game against Belfius Mons-Hainaut in the Belgian Euromillions League. Despite his good performance on Saturday night Faye recorded 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Faye averaged so far 11.3ppg, 9.1rpg and 1.3apg. He used to play for the Senegalese national team three years ago.

   #14. Former international center Pape Faye (200-87, currently plays in Japan) couldn't help Osaka Evessa in their game against Toyama Grouses in the Japanese B League. Faye scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. His team was crushed by 35 points 85-50. Faye has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Senegalese national team back in 2017.

   #15. Former U18 international power forward Ousmane Barro (207-84, college: Marquette, currently plays in Romania) helped CS Dinamo Bucuresti win their game against the sixth-ranked Medias crushing them 95-70 in the Romanian Liga Nationala last Sunday. Barro recorded 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 20 minutes. Barro's stats this year are: 12.3ppg, 9.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.7spg in seven games. He used to play for the Senegalese U18 national team seventeen years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Senegalese passport but never been selected to any of Senegalese national teams:

   #1. Amath M'Baye (206-F-89, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Italy) could not help Virtus Bologna (10-9) in their last game. Despite his good performance Virtus Bologna was badly defeated 87-70 on the road by the higher-ranked (#3) Vanoli Cremona. M'Baye recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and made 2 blocks in 34 minutes. M'Baye has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.1apg in 19 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Senegalese and French.

   #2. Malik Dime (206-F/C-92, college: Washington, currently plays in Bulgaria) was not able to help Rilski in their game against Levski Lukoil (14-2) in the Bulgarian NBL, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. Dime had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks and 3 steals in 34 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Dime's second season in pro basketball. But Rilski was edged 95-93 at home by the leading Levski Lukoil. It's Dime's first year with the team. This season he has relatively solid stats: 12.1ppg, 9.1rpg and 3.3bpg in seven games. Dime is another player who holds two passports: Senegalese and American.

   #3. Michel Diouf (208-C-89, currently plays in Denmark) was the major contributor in Bakken's victory against the third-ranked Svendborg (13-7) 87-78 in the Danish BasketLigaen on Sunday night. He recorded 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group ProA. Bakken Bears (18-1) is placed first. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Diouf is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Bakken's roster. Diouf's overall stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.3apg.

   #4. Mame Souleye (206-C-87, currently plays in Qatar) was not able to secure a victory for Al Wakrah (9-7) in their game against Al Rayyan (3-13) in the Qatari D1, despite his very good performance in Monday night's game. He was the top scorer with 23 points. Souleye also added 8 rebounds in 42 minutes. But Al Wakrah lost 89-94 on their home court in Al Wakrah to the one of league's weakest teams (#8) Al Rayyan. The Regular Season already ended. This year Souleye has relatively solid stats: 13.6ppg, 10.0rpg and 1.3apg in nine games. He has both Senegalese and Qatari nationalities.

   #5. Ilimane Diop (210-C-95, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria to win against the closely-ranked Bayern Muenchen (11-11) 76-68 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. Diop recorded only 4 points. Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria (11-11) is placed eighth in the Euroleague. Diop plays sixth season for the team. His overall stats this year are: 4.8ppg and 3.0rpg. Diop also holds two passports: Senegalese and Spanish.

   #6. Tacko Fall (229-C-95, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Cent.Florida to a victory against the University of South Florida 78-65 in the NCAA on Wednesday night. Fall scored 21 points, had 9 rebounds and made 5 blocks. This season Fall has relatively solid stats: 10.4ppg, 7.0rpg and 2.7bpg.

   #7. Diarra Sidate (210-F-90, currently plays in Japan) contributed to a Cyberdyne IR's victory against the third-ranked Dragonflies 98-91 in the Japanese B2 League in Friday night's game. He scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Sidate has averaged so far 4.0ppg and 3.8rpg. He has dual citizenship: Senegalese and Japanese.

   #8. Bira Seck (204-PF-90, agency: Interperformances, college: Idaho, currently plays in Japan) led Tokyo Cinq Reves to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Saitama Broncos 87-84 in the Japanese B League D3 last Friday. Seck was the top player that evening. He recorded 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 30 minutes. This year Seck has relatively solid stats: 13.3ppg, 7.7rpg and 2.0apg in 40 games.

   #9. Mamadou Niang (209-C-94, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help CB Canarias in their game against Burgos in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. Niang scored only 2 points. His team was defeated 88-83. He has averaged so far 2.9ppg and 2.0rpg.

   #10. Khadim Sow (210-C-99, currently plays in France) helped ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket win their game against the 13th-ranked Boulazac Basket 78-73 in the French Jeep ELITE on Friday night. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 9 minutes on the court. Sow has averaged so far 2.7ppg and 1.4rpg in seven games.
