Youssoupha Fall's double-double lands him Player of the Week award among Senegalese players playing currently abroad: - Feb 9, 2019

We bring you last week's top performances from Senegalese players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is former U18 international center Youssoupha Fall (221-95, currently plays in France). Fall led SIG Strasbourg to a victory against the league leader Cholet Basket (18-1) 96-82 in the French Jeep ELITE last Saturday.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 13 rebounds. Fall also added 2 blocks.
SIG Strasbourg (11-8) is placed sixth in the Jeep ELITE.
Fall has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 67.1%(100-149) and FT: 58.3%.
Fall played for the Senegalese U18 national team seven years ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international center Moussa Diagne (211-94, currently plays in EuroCup). Diagne could not help Andorra (5-1) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance the second-placed Andorra (5-1) was badly defeated 72-53 on the road by the leading Unics Kazan in the group H of Eurocup.
Diagne was the top scorer with 12 points. He also added 6 rebounds.
Diagne's team will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical.
Diagne's overall stats this season are: 7.5ppg, 5.1rpg, 2FGP: 61.0%(36-59) and FT: 76.2%.
He has a dual citizenship: Senegalese and Spanish.
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Diagne played for the Senegalese national team in 2016.
#3. The Senegalese player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, agency: BeoBasket, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Euroleague). He was not able to help Gran Canaria in their game against Anadolu Efes (15-7) in the Euroleague, despite his very good performance last Thursday.
Hannah was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 5 passes in 25 minutes.
But Gran Canaria was badly defeated 93-74 in Istanbul by the much higher-ranked (#4) Anadolu Efes.
It was Gran Canaria's seventh consecutive loss in a row.
It's Hannah's first season with the team.
Hannah has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 4.5apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 47.9%, 3FGP: 37.1% and FT: 90.9%(30-33) in 10 games he played so far.
He is another player who holds two passports: Senegalese and American.
Hannah played for the Senegalese national team two years ago.
#4. An experienced power forward Jules Aw (202-86, currently plays in Switzerland) led Massagno to a 3-point victory over the league leader Geneve Lions (13-3) 80-77 in the Swiss SBL on Sunday night.
He was MVP of the game. Aw recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 4 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. SAM Basket Massagno (2-2) is placed third in the SBL.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This season Aw has very high stats. He averages: 18.3ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9spg.
Aw has both Senegalese and Swiss nationalities.

#5. International forward Mouhammad Faye (207-85, college: SMU, currently plays in EuroCup) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Unicaja Malaga (3-3) 105-89 in the Eurocup in Tuesday night's game.
Faye scored 7 points in only 14 minutes.
Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (2-4) is placed third in group G.
They ended the series of four consecutive loses.
The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup.
This year Faye's overall stats are: 8.0ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.6apg in 13 games.

#6. Center Gorgui Dieng (211-90, college: Louisville, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans (25-31) in the NBA.
Dieng scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
But the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) were defeated 122-117 in New Orleans by the Pelicans.
It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row.

#8. Center Hamady N'Diaye (213-87, college: Rutgers, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Sidigas AV (11-7) in their game against Virtus Bologna (10-9) in the Italian Serie A. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones.
N'Diaye scored only 2 points and blocked 3 shots in 10 minutes.
Sidigas AV was crushed 88-66 in Bologna by the lower-ranked (#7) Virtus.

#15. International point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83, currently plays in France) contributed to Charleville-Mezieres' victory against the 14th-ranked Aubenas 78-68 in the French NM1 (third division) on Saturday night.
d'Almeida recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in 36 minutes.

Samb has averaged so far 3.4ppg and 3.4rpg.
He has Senegalese and Spanish nationalities.
Despite Samb's Senegalese passport, he previously played for the Spanish U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Senegalese team.

YOUSSOUPHA FALL
We bring you last week's top performances from Senegalese players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is former U18 international center Youssoupha Fall (221-95, currently plays in France). Fall led SIG Strasbourg to a victory against the league leader Cholet Basket (18-1) 96-82 in the French Jeep ELITE last Saturday.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 13 rebounds. Fall also added 2 blocks.
SIG Strasbourg (11-8) is placed sixth in the Jeep ELITE.
Fall has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.7ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 67.1%(100-149) and FT: 58.3%.
Fall played for the Senegalese U18 national team seven years ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international center Moussa Diagne (211-94, currently plays in EuroCup). Diagne could not help Andorra (5-1) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite his good performance the second-placed Andorra (5-1) was badly defeated 72-53 on the road by the leading Unics Kazan in the group H of Eurocup.
Diagne was the top scorer with 12 points. He also added 6 rebounds.
Diagne's team will play only one more game in the Eurocup Top 16. And that game will be critical.
Diagne's overall stats this season are: 7.5ppg, 5.1rpg, 2FGP: 61.0%(36-59) and FT: 76.2%.
He has a dual citizenship: Senegalese and Spanish.
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Diagne played for the Senegalese national team in 2016.
#3. The Senegalese player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, agency: BeoBasket, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Euroleague). He was not able to help Gran Canaria in their game against Anadolu Efes (15-7) in the Euroleague, despite his very good performance last Thursday.
Hannah was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 5 passes in 25 minutes.
But Gran Canaria was badly defeated 93-74 in Istanbul by the much higher-ranked (#4) Anadolu Efes.
It was Gran Canaria's seventh consecutive loss in a row.
It's Hannah's first season with the team.
Hannah has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 4.5apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 47.9%, 3FGP: 37.1% and FT: 90.9%(30-33) in 10 games he played so far.
He is another player who holds two passports: Senegalese and American.
Hannah played for the Senegalese national team two years ago.
#4. An experienced power forward Jules Aw (202-86, currently plays in Switzerland) led Massagno to a 3-point victory over the league leader Geneve Lions (13-3) 80-77 in the Swiss SBL on Sunday night.
He was MVP of the game. Aw recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 4 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. SAM Basket Massagno (2-2) is placed third in the SBL.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This season Aw has very high stats. He averages: 18.3ppg, 11.5rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9spg.
Aw has both Senegalese and Swiss nationalities.

#5. International forward Mouhammad Faye (207-85, college: SMU, currently plays in EuroCup) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Unicaja Malaga (3-3) 105-89 in the Eurocup in Tuesday night's game.
Faye scored 7 points in only 14 minutes.
Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (2-4) is placed third in group G.
They ended the series of four consecutive loses.
The Top 16 already ended in the Eurocup.
This year Faye's overall stats are: 8.0ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.6apg in 13 games.

#6. Center Gorgui Dieng (211-90, college: Louisville, currently plays in NBA) was not able to secure a victory for the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans (25-31) in the NBA.
Dieng scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
But the Minnesota Timberwolves (25-30) were defeated 122-117 in New Orleans by the Pelicans.
It was Timberwolves' fourth consecutive loss in a row.
Dieng has been at the team for six years.

#7. International center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Cincinnati, currently plays in Poland) managed to help Polski Cukier Torun in a victory against one of league's weakest teams Spojnia Stargard (4-14) 85-75 in the Polish EBL in Saturday night's game.
Mbodj scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 17 minutes.
Polski Cukier Torun (15-3) is placed second in the EBL.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.

#8. Center Hamady N'Diaye (213-87, college: Rutgers, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Sidigas AV (11-7) in their game against Virtus Bologna (10-9) in the Italian Serie A. He cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones.
N'Diaye scored only 2 points and blocked 3 shots in 10 minutes.
Sidigas AV was crushed 88-66 in Bologna by the lower-ranked (#7) Virtus.
It was Sidigas AV's third consecutive loss in a row.

LEB Silver newcomer Queseria La Antigua CB Tormes landed 29-year old Senegalese ex-international swingman Louis Adams (193-91kg-90, college: Eastern Florida State). He played recently at Douane in Senegalese D1 league. Adams has played there for the last three years. He was also a member of Senegalese international program for some years. Adams played for Senegalese Senior National Team between 2007 and 2017 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2008. He also represented Senegal at the Afrobasket Championships two years ago. Adams' team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 4.7ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.2apg. Adams is a very experienced player. He graduated from Eastern Florida State in 2012 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
