OUSMANE BARRO

CS Dinamo Bucuresti (Liga Nationala) inked experienced 34-year old Senegalese power forward Ousmane Barro (207-111kg-84, college: Marquette). He already started the season at Rilski in Bulgarian NBL league, but left the team in Dec.'18. In four games he averaged 6.3ppg and 4.0rpg this season. Barro also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he had 3.0ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.0apg. The last season he played at U-Banca Transilvania Cluj Napoca. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and Barro was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 39 Liga Nationala games he recorded 9.7ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.0apg. He helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. Good season as he was selected League Player of the Week. Barro also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he got 8.8ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.3apg. He also played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 9.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.0spg and 1.5bpg.
Among other achievements Barro won Romanian League championship title in 2017. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Romanian League Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Romanian League Import Player of the Year award in 2017.
Barro played at the WABA Club Championships seven years ago. His team got to the Semifinals.
Barro is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Barro has played previously professionally in France (JL Bourg, Entente Orleans 45 and Denain Voltaire), Hungary (Szolnok), Iran (Zob Ahan), Japan (Tochigi Brex), Poland (Gornik) and Romania (Targu Mures and Pitesti).
He attended Marquette University until 2008 and it is his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
Barro's game is described as: Ousmane's size and athleticism is very exciting to all of us, but his commitment, personality and work ethic are what we believe will eventually help him become an excellent player. Ousmane understands the value of hard work and has made a commitment to getting better. What he lacks in game experience, he makes up for in his willingness and desire to learn and improve. Some of the skills that standout for him basketball-wise are his incredible ability to run the floor, his 6-10 height and 7-2 wingspan, a desire and willingness to rebound and score inside, as well as continued improvement facing the basket.
