Mamadou Samb
MAMADOU SAMB

Real Betis Energia Plus Sevilla (LEB Gold) agreed terms with 28-year old naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Samb (210-102kg-89). He played last season at Melilla Baloncesto. In 48 LEB Gold games he had 8.7ppg and 5.3rpg. Samb helped them to make it to the final.
The most of previous (2016-17) season he spent at Palencia Baloncesto where in 36 LEB Gold games he recorded 11.3ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.0bpg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Gold Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. Samb also played for Tindastoll (Dominos League) in league. In 6 games he averaged remarkable 22.0ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.0apg, 1.2spg and 1.3bpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Samb was voted Eurobasket.com Spanish LEB Silver All-Defensive Team back in 2009.
He represented Spain at the European Championships U20 in Rhodos (Greece) nine years ago. Samb's team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 9 games: 11.0ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.0spg, Blocks-5 (1.6bpg), FGP: 50.0%, 3PT: 22.2%, FT: 81.6%.
Samb has played previously for six other Spain teams: FC Barcelona, Leche Rio Breogan, CB Granada, RETAbet Bilbao Basket, Cornella and AB Esplugues-Portes.
He could be described: An incredible leaper, with immense upside. He's yet very green at the tehcnical side, but can dominate a game only with his unbelieveble athletic skills. Great shotblocker, has a good outside shooting, but he is not enough continous on the court.
