MOUHAMMAD FAYE

Defending champion Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (KLS) agreed terms with 32-year old Senegalese international forward Mouhammad Faye (208-85, college: SMU). He played last season at Promitheas in Greek A1 league. In 30 games he had 12.5ppg and 5.7rpg. Faye helped them to make it to the semifinals. Quite impressive season as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Greek A1 Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week.
The previous (16-17) season he played at Sagesse in Lebanese LBL where in only one game he recorded 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.
In 2010 Faye was drafted by Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in third round (7th overall).
He attended Southern Methodist University and it will be his ninth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Faye played in the final of D-League in 2011. He was also voted USBasket.com All-D-League Import Player of the Year back in 2011.
Faye has been also a member of Senegalese international program for some years. He has regularly played for Senegalese senior team since 2007 and previously for U18 National Team between 2002 and 2004.
Faye also represented Senegal at the Afrobasket Championships last year. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 11.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.7apg, FGP-1 (76.5%), 3PT: 36.7%, FT: 80.0%.
Faye is quite experienced player. He has played on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and of course North America). Faye has played previously professionally in France (Hyeres-Toulon), Italy (Openjobmetis VA) and Senegal (JA Dakar and US Rail).
He could be described: True height is probably around 6-9. A lanky forward, with great wingspan, good ball handling skills and long range shooting ability. He's very active on the court, loves to attack the basket, can grab lots of rebounds. Very active in defense. Can play in the two forward positions, but his future is at the SF, thanks to his good perimetral skills.
