We bring you last week's top performances from Senegalese players who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Gorgui Dieng
Gorgui Dieng
#1. This week's number one is an international center Gorgui Dieng (211-90, college: Louisville, currently plays in NBA). He led Minnesota Timberwolves to an easy victory against the New Orleans Pelicans (11-11) 120-102 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Dieng recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals in 37 minutes on the court. The Minnesota Timberwolves have 13-10 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Dieng's fifth year with the team. This season he averages: 6.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 56.3%(45-80), 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 74.4% in 20 games he played so far. Dieng is currently a member of the Senegalese senior national team.

Bamba Fall
Bamba Fall
#2. Second place goes to former international center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU, currently plays in Baltic League). He could not help TLU/Kalev (2-3) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Fall's good performance TLU/Kalev was defeated 94-82 on the road by the one of league's weakest teams Valmiera (#13). He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 16 rebounds. Fall also added 3 assists. Fall has relatively good stats this season: 14.2ppg, 12.0rpg, 1.8apg, 1.2bpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 61.2%(30-49) and FT: 73.3%. He played for the Senegalese national team in 2007.

Mamadou Diouf
Mamadou Diouf
#3. The Senegalese player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international swingman Mamadou Diouf (197-77, college: Delaware, currently plays in Japan). He was not able to help Toshiba Thunders in their game against Hitachi Sunrockers (12-6) in the Japanese B1 League. Diouf did not beat the league record on Friday evening. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. The fourth-placed Toshiba Thunders (11-7) was defeated 79-70 in Tokyo by the higher-ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (#3) in the East group. Diouf has been at the team for six years. Diouf's overall stats this season are: 2.4ppg, 2.0rpg, 2FGP: 43.8% and FT: 76.9%. He played for the Senegalese national team ten years ago.

Abdoulaye Ndoye
Abdoulaye Ndoye
#4. Center Abdoulaye Ndoye (207-95, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Ourense (1-9) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the bottom-ranked Ourense was defeated 84-75 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked Caceres_Basket (#8). Ndoye recorded 10 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. It's Ndoye's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 8.9ppg and 6.2rpg. Ndoye is also Senegalese national team player.

Papa Mbaye
Papa Mbaye
#5. Former U18 international center Papa Mbaye (209-90, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Lleida Basquet (4-7) in their game against CB Prat (10-1) in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Mbaye cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 11 minutes. Lleida Basquet was crushed 84-60 in Prat by the second-ranked CB Prat. This year Mbaye's overall stats are: 10.0ppg and 4.8rpg in eight games. He used to play for the Senegalese U18 national team nine years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Senegalese passport but never been selected to any of Senegalese national teams:

#1. Amath M'Baye (206-F-89, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Euroleague). M'Baye could not help Armani Milano (3-7) to beat Anadolu Efes (3-7). It was not his best game last Thursday. M'Baye recorded only 3 points in 19 minutes. Armani Milano lost 68-73 on the road to the lower-ranked (#14) Anadolu Efes. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's M'Baye's first year with the team. This season his overall stats are: 6.4ppg and 2.2rpg in 10 games he played so far. M'Baye has a dual citizenship: Senegalese and French.

#2. Michel Diouf (208-C-89, currently plays in Denmark) contributed to Bakken's victory against the closely-ranked Svendborg (3-5) 86-74 in the Danish Ligaen in Thursday night's game. He scored 6 points, had 9 rebounds and made 4 blocks. Bakken Bears (4-1) is placed fourth in the Ligaen. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Diouf's overall stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.0bpg.

#3. Yande Fall (203-C/F-90, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in Italy) led Recanati to a victory against the 13th-ranked Bisceglie (3-7) 110-102 in the Italian Serie B (third division) last Sunday. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Fall also added and 3 steals in 29 minutes. Basket Recanati (6-4) is placed seventh in Group C. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. It's Fall's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 8.6ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.3spg in 10 games. Fall is another player who holds two passports: Senegalese and Italian.

Dieng scored 9 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 27 minutes. KIA Sakimovil Navarra de Pamplona (5-6) is placed 11th in the LEB Silver. This year Dieng's overall stats are: 4.8ppg and 4.5rpg in six games.

#5. Mamadou Samb (210-C/F-89, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Melilla Baloncesto (8-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance Melilla Baloncesto lost 69-79 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#6) Oviedo_CB. Samb recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 31 minutes. This year Samb's overall stats are: 8.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.1bpg in 11 games. He has both Senegalese and Spanish nationalities. Despite Samb's Senegalese passport, he previously played for the Spanish U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Senegalese team.

#6. Massine Fall (208-C-93, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Mamadou Samb. But that was another game of his team in Spanish LEB Gold which we would like to mention. Fall led Melilla Baloncesto to a victory over the league outsider Ourense 61-52. He was MVP of the game. Fall scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
