American Point guard Jeffery Stubbs (189-PG-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Patriots Basketball Club Kigali, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 34-year old player got a double-double of 27 points and 12 assists, while his team beat UGB (#6, 4-5) 98-92. It allowed Patriots to take over top position in the Rwandan RBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Patriots has a very solid 8-3 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Stubbs just recently signed at Patriots, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Jackson State University star has very solid stats this year. Stubbs is in league's top in points (6th best: 15.5ppg), assists (2nd best: 7.8apg) and averages impressive 57.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Jarode Aworet (2001) of Azomco. Aworet had a very good evening with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Azomco lost that game 84-96 to the higher-ranked Kepler (#5, 5-4). Azomco managed to keep the same 8th spot in the standings. 8 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Azomco managed to get this year. Aworet is a newcomer at Azomco, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Jamaican guard Jabs Newby (188-G-1991) of Kepler BBC Kigali (#5). Newby showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Kepler, leading his team to a 96-84 win against the lower-ranked Azomco (#8, 3-8). Kepler needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 4 lost games. Newby has a great season in Rwanda. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.1apg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Mohamed Doumbya (202-F-1997) of UGB - 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Chad Bowie (188-G-1996) of Kepler - 30 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
6. Chingka Garba (201-F-2001) of Patriots - 11 points and 12 rebounds
7. Fabrice Muhoza (SG) of REG - 19 points and 6 rebounds
8. James Amotoe (1998) of UGB - 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Patrick Nizeyimana (PG-2002) of Azomco - 17 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Elie Kaje (198-C/F-1995) of Kepler - 7 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
