DR Congolese Forward Frank Betoudji (201-F-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Rwanda Energy Group Kigali, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed EAU (#7, 2-3) with 17-point margin 93-76. REG maintains the 3rd position in Rwandan RBL. They are still close to the very top. REG would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. Betoudji just recently signed at REG, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Frank Betoudji has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 17.0ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 11.2rpg) and averages impressive 1.8bpg and 52.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young South African Nkosinathi Sibanyoni (208-PF-1998) of United Generation Basketball Kigali. Sibanyoni had a very good evening with 9 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course UGB cruised to a 87-75 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Azomco (#8, 1-5). This victory allowed UGB to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 3-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sibanyoni is one of the most experienced players at UGB and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Jarode Aworet (2001) of Azomco (#8). Aworet scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Aworet's great performance the Azomco lost 75-87 to the higher-ranked UGB (#5, 3-3). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Azomco can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Aworet has individually a great season in Rwanda. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jean Umuhoza (175-PG-2001) of REG - 20 points and 5 assists
5. Hilar Irankunda (2006) of UGB - 11 points and 9 rebounds
6. Hamady Barro) of REG - 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists

9. Yamin Niyubahwe (C) of EAU - 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Chingka Garba (201-F-2001) of Patriots - 8 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
