Kepler adds Newby to their roster

Jabs Newby

Kepler BBC Kigali (RBL) added to their roster experienced 34-year-old Jamaican-Canadian guard Jabs Newby (188cm-86kg-1991, college: Gannon). The last time (2024) he played at Brampton in Canadian CEBL. He missed last season and had a one-year break from professional basketball.
He is a quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in five different countries. Newby tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played professionally in Canada (Riptide, Power, Windsor Express and Bandits), Colombia (Storm and Corsarios), Mexico (Pioneros Los Mochis), Spain (Algeciras, Clavijo, Araberri, La Roda and Gijon Circulo) and NBA G League (Raptors 905 Mississauga).
Newby won the Colombian LPB Apertura championship title in 2023.
He graduated from Gannon University in 2014 and it'll be his 12th (!!!) season as a professional player. Newby played also for Eastern Kentucky University for 2 years.
