Al Dhafra Abu Dhabi (ULB) agreed terms with 31-year old American guard Cleveland Thomas (192cm-88kg-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) for new 2025-26 season. Thomas played this summer at Rwanda Energy Group Kigali in Rwandan RBL league. In 18 games just recently he had very impressive stats: 16.3ppg, 5.3rpg, 4.7apg and 1.8spg. He helped them to make it to the Rwandan League final after they ended regular season as second best team. 2025-25 was a great year as he was named to Afrobasket.com All-Rwandan League All-Imports Team and Afrobasket.com All-Rwandan League Second Team.
Thomas is quite experienced player. Thomas' career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in thirteen different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America. Thomas has played previously professionally in Germany, Greece (Apollon Patras), Hungary (Duna Aszfalt), Iraq (Al Naft), Italy (Cantu), Lebanon (Beirut Club), Mexico (Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and Dorados), Saudi Arabia (Al Fateh), Slovenia (Zlatorog), Syria (Al Wahda), Tanzania (Pazi), Libya (Ahly Benghazi) and The Basketball Tournament (The Enchantment). His team won MWC Tournament in 2013 and 2014.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican CIBACOPA Honorable Mention in 2024.
He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2017 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player. Thomas played also for University of New Mexico for 2 years.
