2025 AfroBasket: DR Congo outlast Rwanda

DR Congo registered the first win at the 2025 AfroBasket. They beat Rwanda for 1-1 record in Group A. Jordan Sakho (207-C-1997) came up with 21 points and 14 rebounds to pace the winners.
DR Congo piled up a 26-18 lead at the first break. They held Rwanda to just 6 points in the second frame to post a 37-24 halftime lead. Rwanda held their opponents to only 28 points in the second half but could not avoid the loss. Garmine Kieli tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Note Ntore Habimana (196-F-1997, college: Laurier) answered with 16 points for Rwanda.
