APR fire past Al Ittihad Alexandria to claim third place in Pretoria

APR finished third in the 2025 edition of Basketball Africa League. The Rwandan powerhouse outgunned Al Ittihad Alexandria in the consolation final tonight. Axel Alex Mpoyo (203-F/C-1997, college: GSU) notched 32 points to lead the winners.
APR unloaded 38 points in the high-flying first period to gain a 19-point lead. APR added 36 points in the second frame to secure a comfortable 74-34 halftime lead. Al Ittihad picked up the tempo in the second half. They narrowed the gap but could not avoid the loss as APR cruised to the win. Chasson Randle (188-G-1993, college: Stanford) produced 17 points in the victory. Mido Mohamed (184-G-1996) answered with 20 points, while Aly Ahmed (206-F-1992, college: CSUB) tossed in 19 points in the loss.
