Al Ahly Tripoli are the first Basketball Africa League finalists. They beat APR in the first semifinal clash of the day. Fabian White Jr. (202-SF-1998, college: Houston) came up with 23 points and 7 rebounds to pace the Libyan side.
APR eked out an 18-17 lead after ten minutes. Al Ahly however picked up the tempo in the second frame. They held APR to just 11 points to surge ahead for a 36-29 halftime advantage. APR responded with a strong third-period rally. The Rwandan powerhouse ignited a 28-19 surge to regain the lead. But it was all about Al Ahly in the fourth term. The Libyan side fueled a 29-14 run to seal the victory. Caleb Agada (196-PG-1994, college: Ottawa, agency: Blacktop Management) finished with 17 points for the winners. Anunwa Omot (203-G) replied with 22 points for APR. Chasson Randle (188-G-1993, college: Stanford), Aliou Diarra (200-F-2001) and Obadiah Noel (193-G-1999, college: UMass Lowell) had 13 points each in the loss.
