Rwanda gears up for 2024 FIBA U18 continental tournament

The U-18 national basketball teams for boys and girls are gearing up to compete in the FIBA Africa U18 qualifiers scheduled to be held from June 9-14 in Kampala, Uganda. Alongside Rwanda, other participating nations include Burundi, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, and Tanzania. The 2024 FIBA U18 African Championship serves as a qualifier for the 2025 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup. Rwanda’s preparations for the tournament are set to commence on May 25. The boys' team will be under the guidance of coach Yves Murenzi , while the girls' team will be led by coach Jacques Bahige. This year’s showpiece will mark Rwanda's fourth appearance in the FIBA U18 African Championship, having previously participated in Madagascar 2014 and Rwanda 2016.
