RBL Round 11 (Regular Season): Inspired Gen. still unable to win any game

Bottom-ranked Inspired Gen. (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 119-54 loss to third ranked REG (7-3) in Kigali on Friday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Inspired Gen.'s 28. REG forced 31 Inspired Gen. turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. REG looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Inspired Gen.'s players. The best player for the winners was American point guard Antino Jackson (182-1996, college: N.Mexico) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 assists. Cameroonian Engelbert Beleck (192-1998) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. REG's coach Charles Mushumba felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Freddy Kwizera (-1996) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. REG maintains third place with 7-3 record having just one point less than leader Patriots. Newly promoted Inspired Gen. still closes the standings with ten games lost.

Tigers - Orion 67-54

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Orion (3-6) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Tigers (6-4) 67-54 on Friday. Tigers forced 19 Orion turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tigers made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Nigerian power forward Francis Azolibe (206-1999) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. Fiston Irutingabo (-1996) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. The former international point guard Bello Nkanira (-1996) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and center Lukwanga Mugalu (207-2005) added 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 6-4 record.
