American Elias Ezenekwe (193-G) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Orion and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The guard had the game-high 35 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Orion as his team lost the game against Tigers (#5, 4-4) 64-74. Orion maintains the 8th position in Rwandan RBL. The season is still in it's early stage, so the team may have a chance to improve their current position in the standings. They lost 5 games and had just one victory. In the team's last game Ezenekwe had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Orion, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Antelope Valley University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ezenekwe is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.4ppg) and averages solid 4.0spg and 59.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Nigerian power forward Francis Azolibe (206-F/C-1999) of Tigers BB. Azolibe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 20 rebounds. Of course Tigers cruised to a 74-64 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Orion (#8, 1-5). Tigers' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Azolibe is one of the most experienced players at Tigers and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was DR Congolese Pitchou Kambuyi (208-C-1988) of Rwanda Energy Group Kigali (#3). Kambuyi scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. He was a key player of REG, leading his team to a 89-86 win against #4 ranked Kepler in a game of the week. REG needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Kambuyi has a great season in Rwanda. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 15.8ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 9.6rpg (6th best). He also has 2.9bpg and a FGP of 61.9%.
