Experienced DR Congolese Pitchou Kambuyi (208-C-1988) had a very impressive game in the last round for Rwanda Energy Group Kigali and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 35-year old center had a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team K-Titans (#8, 0-4) with 38-point margin 85-47. Thanks to this victory REG moved-up to the 3rd position in Rwandan RBL. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but REG already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Kambuyi had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at REG and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Kambuyi has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 2.6bpg and 63.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young DR Congolese center Amisi Saidi (200-C-1987) of United Generation Basketball. Saidi impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as UGB was edged by slightly higher-ranked Kepler (#4, 3-2) 104-102. This loss caused UGB to drop to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Saidi is one of the most experienced players at UGB and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.3ppg (#5). He also registered 9.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Fiston Irutingabo (SF-1996) of Tigers BB (#5). Irutingabo scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Tigers, leading his team to a 73-54 easy win against Inspired Gen. (#10, 0-5). The chances of Tigers ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Irutingabo could help Tigers to bring them higher in the standings. Irutingabo has a great season in Rwanda. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.0ppg (8th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Dario Hunt (204-F/C-1989) of APR - 16 points, 16 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Chad Bowie (188-G-1996) of Kepler - 31 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Emmanuel Umeadi (PF-1996) of Inspired Gen. - 17 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Aristide Mugabe (183-PG-1988) of Kepler - 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
8. Adonis Filer (195-G-1993) of APR - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Ntore Habimana (196-G-1997) of APR - 14 points, 3 rebounds and 10 assists
10. Betoudji Kamndoh) of Patriots - 12 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
