Starwings Basket Regio Basel (SBL) tabbed 23-year old Rwandan international 201cm power forward Dylan Schommer for new season. Schommer has played for the last four years at Fribourg Olympic. But in 10 SBL games in Switzerland he averaged just 1.9ppg (#5 in the league) last season. He helped them to win the league title and the Supercup. Schommer can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Swiss NLB 2nd Team and League Player of the Week. He also played for Academie Fribourg (NLB) where in 13 games he had 14.5ppg, 9.8rpg and 1.5apg. Schommer contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. A very impressive season as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Swiss NLB 2nd Team and League Player of the Week.
He also represented Rwanda at the European Championships U18 Division B in Oberwart (Austria) six years ago. His stats at that event were 9 games: 3.6ppg, 2.3rpg.
Schommer has played previously for Swiss team Bern.
