Gallois
Kazeneza
Experienced Gallois Kazeneza (SG) had a very impressive game in the last round for Espoir and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 10.
The shooting guard had a double-double of 17 points and ten rebounds, while his team edged out Patriots (#2, 8-2) 61-59. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Espoir maintains the 3rd position in Rwandan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Espoir will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Kazeneza had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Espoir's top player in his first season with the team. Kazeneza has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.9rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old Paul Ndori (SF-95) of IPRC-Kigali. Ndori impressed basketball fans with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Of course IPRC-Kigali cruised to a 91-79 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked UGB (#7, 3-7). Despite this victory IPRC-Kigali slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Ndori is a newcomer at IPRC-Kigali and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Armand Cyubahiro (SG-97) of IPRC-South (#6). Cyubahiro scored 28 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Cyubahiro's great performance IPRC-South lost 73-76 to the higher-ranked REG (#1, 9-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of IPRC-South ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cyubahiro could help IPRC-South to bring them higher in the standings. Cyubahiro has a great season in Rwanda. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.5ppg (7th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Steven Hagumintwari (198-SF-93) of Patriots - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Bruno Nyamwasa (SG-96) of IPRC-Kigali - 26 points and 4 rebounds
6. Eric Muhayumukiza (SF-95) of IPRC-South - 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Fiston Irutingabo (SG-96) of IPRC-Kigali - 16 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Guibert Nijimbere (SG-95) of IPRC-Kigali - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Ally Ruzigande (F-91) of Patriots - 16 points and 4 rebounds
10. Jacques Boissy (SG) of UGB - 30 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
