Rwanda Energy Group retained the League title and will represent the country in the 2023 Basketball Africa League. They won the Final series against Patriots BBC 3-2 as they posted a decisive 84-74 win.
Adonis Filer (195-G-1993, college: FAU) top-scored for the winners with 23 points and Axel Mpoyo (203-F-1997, college: GSU, agency: BIG) notched 18. Cleveland Thomas (192-G-1993, college: WKU, agency: Slash Sports) produce 15, whilst Olivier Shyaka (197-SF-1995) scored 14. Kendall Gray (208-C-1992, college: Delaware St.) replied with 18 points in a loss and Crowford Christopher as well as Ntore Habimana (196-G-1997, college: Laurier) had 13 each.

Team Mpoyo beat Team Steve in 2022 All Star Game - Sep 25, 2022

Team Mpoyo - Team Steve 126-116

Team Mpoyo earned the 2022 Rwanda League All Star Game victory. They overcame Team Steve in the showdown at the BK Arena on Saturday. Kendall Gray (208-C-1992, college: Delaware St.) came up with 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead the winners.
Team Steve led by 8 points after ten minutes of action 34-26. But Team Mpoyo responded with a massive 41-20 rally in the second period to surge ahead. They added 39 points in the fourth quarter to snatch the win. Adonis Filer (195-G-1993, college: FAU) produced 28 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Steven Hagumintwari (198-SG-1993) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds for Team Steve. Dieudonne Ndizeye finished with 24 points in the loss.
