   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Ike Iroegbu (188-95, college: WSU, currently plays in Lithuania). Iroegbu was the major contributor in Lietkabelis' victory against one of league's weakest teams Siauliai (7-26) crushing them 101-81 in the Lithuanian LKL last Thursday. He recorded 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Iroegbu's second season in pro basketball. Panevezys Lietkabelis (20-12) is placed fourth in the LKL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Iroegbu has relatively good stats this season: 14.8ppg, 3.5rpg, 3.5apg, 3FGP: 43.5% and FT: 72.2%. He is currently a member of the Nigerian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, agency: Octagon Europe, college: CS Northridge, currently plays in Lebanon). Efevberha could not help Homentmen (12-4) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Homentmen was defeated 96-91 in a derby game by the lower-ranked Beirut Club (#4). Efevberha was the top scorer with 25 points. He also added 3 steals. It's Efevberha's first season with the team. Efevberha has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 19.6ppg, 4.1rpg, 2.4apg, 1.7spg, 2FGP: 49.1%, 3FGP: 40.7% and FT: 83.1%. Efevberha has a dual citizenship: Nigerian and American. He is in the roster of the Nigerian senior national team.

   #3. The Nigerian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Al-Farouq Aminu (206-90, college: Wake Forest, currently plays in NBA). Aminu led Portland Trail Blazers to a victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder (49-33) 111-98 in the NBA on Sunday night. He recorded 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. The Portland Trail Blazers have a solid 53-29 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Aminu is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Trail Blazers' roster. This season Aminu has relatively solid stats: 9.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 50.4%, 3FGP: 34.8% and FT: 87.0%. He is another player who holds two passports: Nigerian and American. Despite Aminu played previously for the USA U19 national team, he is currently a member of the Nigerian senior national team.

Power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice, currently plays in Israel) led Hapoel Eilat to a 3-point victory over the closely-ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (19-8) 81-78 in the Israeli Winner League last Thursday. He was MVP of the game. Braimoh recorded 19 points and blocked 2 shots. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Hapoel Eilat (19-9) is placed fourth in the Winner League. This season Braimoh has very high stats. He averages: 16.0ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.6apg and 1.6spg. Braimoh used to play for the Nigerian national team back in 2016.

International power forward Talib Zanna (206-90, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a 2-point Ironi Nes-Ziona's victory against the closely-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (12-16) 100-98 in the Israeli Winner League on Monday night. He recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 39 minutes. Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona (13-15) is placed sixth in the Winner League. Zanna has reliable stats this year: 13.3ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.3spg in 15 games he played so far. He plays currently for the Nigerian national team.

Swingman Stan Okoye (198-91, college: VMI, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 2-point Zaragoza's victory against the closely-ranked Andorra (14-15) 99-97 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Sunday night. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Tecnyconta Zaragoza (14-13) is placed seventh in the Liga Endesa. Okoye's stats this season are: 14.7ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.1apg. He has both American and Nigerian nationalities. Okoye is an international player who is currently on the senior Nigerian National Team roster.

International center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, agency: BeoBasket, college: Chicago St., currently plays in Puerto Rico) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Indios (6-12) crushing them 110-84 in the Puerto Rican BSN last Wednesday. Akindele scored 8 points, had 14 rebounds, passed 5 assists and added 4 blocks. It was his first game for Capitanes this season. His team is placed sixth in the BSN. Akindele is also Nigerian national team player.

Center Tonye Jekiri (213-94, college: Miami, FL, currently plays in Turkey) managed to help Gaziantep Basketbol to win against the second-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (15-3) 74-73 in the Turkish BSL in Saturday night's game. Jekiri scored 5 points, had 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Gaziantep Basketbol (15-10) is placed sixth in the BSL. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Jekiri averaged so far 12.2ppg, 10.6rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg. He plays currently for the Nigerian national team.

   #9. International point guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV, currently plays in Poland) was not able to help Twarde Pierniki in their game against Asseco Arka (25-4) in the Polish EBL. Umeh scored 9 points. But Twarde Pierniki was badly defeated 88-72 on the road by the leading Asseco Arka. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. Umeh averaged so far 12.4ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.6apg. He also holds two passports: Nigerian and American. Umeh is also in the roster of the Nigerian national team.

Guard Obi Emegano (190-93, college: ORU, currently plays in France) contributed to a JDA Dijon's victory against one of league's weakest teams Levallois (6-22) 89-80 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA on Friday night. He recorded 8 points in 20 minutes. JDA Dijon Bourgogne (24-5) is placed third in the Jeep ELITE ProA. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. This year Emegano's overall stats are: 7.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.1spg in 29 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Nigerian National Team roster.

   #11. Former international forward Andy Ogide (204-87, agency: HMS, college: Colorado St., currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for UCC Piacenza (11-19) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Ogide's very good performance the 12th-placed UCC Piacenza was edged 84-81 in Piacenza by the lower-ranked Bakery PIA (#14) in the East group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 12 rebounds. This season Ogide has very high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg and 8.1rpg. Ogide used to play for the Nigerian national team three years ago.

   #12. International center Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (207-85, college: Maryland, currently plays in France) faced previously mentioned Obi Emegano in the French Jeep ELITE ProA last game. Ibekwe couldn't help Levallois in their game against JDA Dijon. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. His team was defeated 89-80. Ibekwe's total stats this season are: 6.6ppg and 4.7rpg. He holds both American and Nigerian passports. Ibekwe is also in the roster of the Nigerian national team.

   #13. Former international forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC, currently plays in Japan) couldn't help Gunma (43-17) in their last game. Despite his good performance Gunma lost 78-84 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#5) Yamagata in the East group. Kuso was the second best scorer with 10 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 15 minutes. Kuso has very impressive stats this year: 15.7ppg, 10.8rpg, 3.1apg, 1.8bpg and 1.3spg in 59 games. He used to play for the Nigerian national team twelve years ago.

   #14. International guard Caleb Agada (193-94, agency: Blacktop Management, college: Ottawa, currently plays in Spain) led Melilla Baloncesto to a 2-point victory over the 16th-ranked Caceres Basket 78-76 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Saturday night. Agada was the best player in that game. He scored 14 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 33 minutes. Agada's stats this year are: 11.9ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.2apg and 2.3spg in 29 games. Despite he played previously for the Canadian university national team, Agada is currently in the Nigerian national team roster.

   #15. Former U22 international power forward Dinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., currently plays in France) helped Sluc Nancy win their game against the sixth-ranked Saint Chamond crushing them 97-68 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. He scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Odiakosa's total stats this season are: 7.0ppg and 6.1rpg. He used to play for the Nigerian U22 national team fifteen years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Nigerian passport but never been selected to any of Nigerian national teams:

   #1. Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-G/F-94, agency: Octagon Europe, currently plays in NBA) led Milwaukee Bucks to a victory over the Detroit Pistons (41-41) crushing them 127-104 in the NBA in Monday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Antetokounmpo recorded 41 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 3 assists and made 4 blocks in 32 minutes. The Milwaukee Bucks have a solid 60-22 record this season. It's Antetokounmpo's sixth year with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Antetokounmpo averages: 27.6ppg, 12.5rpg, 5.8apg, 1.5bpg and 1.2spg in 76 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Greek and Nigerian.

   #2. Ike Joseph Udanoh (203-PF-89, college: Wayne St., MI, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Fiat TO (8-19) crushing them 109-82 in the Italian Serie A on Saturday night. Udanoh scored 15 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 30 minutes. Sidigas Avellino (15-12) is placed eighth in the Serie A. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Udanoh has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg, 7.6rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg in eight games. He is another player who holds two passports: Nigerian and American.

   #3. Peter Olisemeka (204-C-91, currently plays in Bulgaria) was the main contributor in an Academik Plovdiv's victory against the closely-ranked Yambol (8-16) 90-82 in the Bulgarian NBL last Thursday. Olisemeka was MVP of the game. He scored 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 22 minutes. Akademik Bultex 99 Plovdiv (13-11) is placed fourth in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This year Olisemeka has relatively solid stats: 14.3ppg and 11.7rpg in 24 games. He has both Nigerian and Italian nationalities.

   #4. Michael Ojo (216-C-93, college: FSU, currently plays in ABA League) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Buducnost (16-6) crushing them 97-54 in the ABA League in Monday night's game. He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 19 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (21-1) is placed first in the ABA League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Ojo's overall stats are: 8.5ppg and 6.4rpg in 30 games. Worth to mention Ojo played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

   #5. Chima Moneke (198-F-95, college: UC Davis, currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider C'Chartres (6-22) crushing them 96-74 in the French ProB (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Moneke was the best player in that game. He recorded 29 points (!!!) and grabbed 8 rebounds; not bad, considering it's only Moneke's third season in pro basketball. Denain ASC Voltaire (10-18) is placed 13th in the ProB. Moneke's stats this season are: 14.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.4spg.

   #6. Abdul-Malik Abu (203-F-95, college: NC State, currently plays in Croatia) could not help one of league's weakest teams KK Vrijednosnice Osijek (12-10) in their last game. Despite his very good performance KK Vrijednosnice Osijek was badly defeated 104-86 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) Cedevita. Abu was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 27 minutes. Abu's stats this year are: 14.6ppg, 9.3rpg and 1.6apg in 18 games.

   #7. Rasheed Sulaimon (193-G-94, college: Maryland, currently plays in France) was not able to help Levallois (14-15) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Levallois lost 80-89 at home to the much higher-ranked (#3) JDA Dijon. Sulaimon was the top scorer with 22 points in 30 minutes. This year Sulaimon's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 2.7rpg and 2.8apg in 18 games. He also holds two passports: Nigerian and American. Despite Sulaimon's Nigerian nationality, he previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Nigerian team.

   #8. Christian Nwogbo (201-F-91, also represented by Octagon Europe, college: Cedarville, currently plays in France) contributed to an easy victory against the 16th-ranked Aix-Maurienne crushing them 91-64 in the French ProB (second division) on Tuesday night. He was the best player in that game. Nwogbo recorded 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 23 minutes. Nwogbo's stats this year are: 12.2ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg in 27 games. He holds both American and Nigerian passports.

   #9. Michael Fakuade (201-F-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, currently plays in France) was the major contributor in a Entente Orleans 45's victory against the 15th-ranked ALM Evreux 86-76 in the French ProB (second division) last Tuesday. Fakuade recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 27 minutes. Fakuade's stats this year are: 11.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2bpg in 25 games. He holds both American and Nigerian passports.

   #10. Etinosa Erevbenagie (186-G-95, currently plays in Greece) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Ethnikos 94-76 in the Greek A2 (second division) on Wednesday night. Erevbenagie recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Erevbenagie's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.6apg. He has Nigerian and Greek nationalities.

A total of thirty six teams will take part in the 2019 edition of Youth Alive Championship in three different categories. This was disclosed by Youth Alive coordinator, Gbade Olatona who gave the break down as comprising mixed UK with eight teams, eight teams will compete for honours in the U16 girls cadre while fourteen teams will jostle for honours in the U16 boys category.
