Back to Back Mark the Ball Champions - Jan 23, 2022

The Nigerian Customs have won the Mark D Ball championship 2022. Recall that they are the defending champions. Not only did they defend the title, but they did it in an alluring style outclassing the legendary Elephants of First Bank team in an electrify finals. They were unbeaten in their run to the title with Jossette Ngu and Nkem Akaraiwe (185-F-96) providing the pivotal pillars for the team to lean on and whisk to victory. Nkem Akaraiwe ended the game in her usual double double style with 11 points, 11 boards and 6 assists and she was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP) - a crown she so deserves to wear.Jj dropped 14 points and combined with complementary efforts from the entire Customs team, they won to themselves the sum of N1,000,000 as cash prize for winning the chip. Two player on the First Bank roster ended in double digits two - Mary Okon Isuambuk (G-94) and Ifunanya Okoro (a classic player) - scoring 14 points and 11 points respectively.
