Angola’s Sporting Clube de Luanda opened their WBLA Zone 6 qualifying campaign with a dominant 98–52 victory over Namibia’s UNAM Phoenix. After a competitive first quarter that ended 26–23 in favor of Sporting, the Angolan champions took full control, outscoring UNAM 30–12 in the second quarter to build a commanding halftime lead. Their defensive pressure intensified after the break, holding Phoenix to just three points in the third period while adding 25 of their own to put the game out of reach. Despite a spirited effort from UNAM in the final frame, Sporting’s depth and experience proved decisive as they cruised to an emphatic win to start their quest for WBLA qualification on a high note. Nelma Cunha (178-F-2002) stepped up with 20 points and Conceicao Caetano (160-G-2001) notched 15. Victoria Netumbo replied with 16 points in the losing effort. |
