NBF Host Successful Under-20 Trials in Windhoek

Windhoek The Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF) in conjunction with the Directorate of Sport in the Ministry of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture successfully continued with their U-20 regional trials, in Windhoek on Saturday.

More than 30 players from the Khomas and Hardap Regions went through dribbling, passing and shooting drills and had the chance to showcase their playing skills in scrimmage games.

A horde of talented youngsters led by Fillemon Auwanga, Pedro Joao, Uakazapi Karuuombe, Andrew Oletu, Raphael Paulus, Reginald Sisande and Uerihorora Tjivikua were selected after the trials and were invited to take part in the upcoming trials to be hosted on 26th to 28th, also in Windhoek.

In the girls' category, Saima Sakaria, Alma Samuel, Victoria Shilongo, Hertha Shimuketa and Nina Simoa were selected. Through the unconditional support of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the German Federal Foreign Office, the NBF was able to handover basketballs to the players and coaches in order for them to continue working on the drills.
