The Namibian Basketball Federation's (NBF) successful summer camp series reached Outjo last week.
The latest mini-basketball camp had 20 selected children from Outjo Primary School and Jack Francis Primary School as well as eight coaches and teachers participating. The goal, as always, was to teach children and coaches the basics of mini-basketball.
After a week of dribbling, passing, shooting and playing the participants were rewarded with certificates as well as T-shirts for their efforts by Kunene Basketball Association (KUBA) president Lukas Shikulo, who organised the event. Shikulo then promised to install a new basketball court in the location's stadium with the help of Outjo municipality.
NBF expert Frank Albin not only conducted the camp, but he also handed over 20 balls, three rims and other equipment to KUBA courtesy of the German Government and the German Olympic Sports Confederation.
The next summer camps will lead NBF to the regions Karas and Omusati.
